Do a lot of you UC’ers get just random aches and pains in your abdomen, stomach (higher up) and even in the rectum area, even if you aren’t bleeding? I’ve significantly improved in my flare over the past week – bleeding stopped and I’m actually back to my usual formed BM in the mornings now (yay!). I’m definitely thankful for the ability to eat now! J But I’m still having all these random aches and pains in my gut and rectum area, even up in my stomach on-and-off and of course the indigestion (that might be from the Prednisone though). Oh, and the gas, its out of control! I’ve only been on the Prednisone for a week now so still a long 2 months to go before I’m completely off of it. Not sure if this is all from the flare-up, just UC in general or IBS as I do have a raging case of IBS which has gotten worse over the past 5-8 years.
I’m sure its all still agitated inside of me, I mean only a week ago today I couldn’t eat a thing due to bleeding and horrible stomach pains. But is it anything to be concerned about? – the feeling pretty good like I’m on the upswing and then all of a sudden having a day (like last night) where I’m having tons of abdominal and back pain – especially on the right side which seems odd with UC (I’m used to the left-sided pain). Is this just the normal process of healing from a flare? I’m so dang tired today too, although I did wake up with the cold sweats (thanks Prednisone!) so maybe didn’t get much sleep.
The only thing I’ve done differently the past few days is get my allergy shot after not getting it for two weeks. Can’t imagine that can upset my UC – the doctor had no answer to that one. Haven’t went crazy eating the past few days and seemed to be getting better daily. It’s such a setback when even if you don’t see blood you start to just feel kind of ‘crappy’ again!
