I think your right, your thyroid antibodies do not show up because you are taking 6mp. Yes, I am taking thyroid hormones and I feel much better. And I am not taking anything for UC. If your symptoms do not subside like mine, then maybe you need thyroid medication. Just remember that thyroid medication is a life long process. And from my experience most doctor’s give too much thyroid hormone. Read this article.

If you require thyroid medication get your medication compounded with acidphophilus and no other fillers or binders in the tablets that was a problem for my UC. www.hooksrx.com these people are the cheapest and the best I ask for an acidophilus filler and nothing more. If the doctor only prescribes T4 or synthyroid, some people do fine on it. But others feel even worse. I incorporate 5% of T3 taken as natural desiccated thyroid.
There is a group on yahoo groups called Natural Thyroid Hormones (NTH) you should subscribe and get their doctors list. These people are big and I mean BIG proponents of natural desiccated thyroid (armour thyroid) I am not. I almost fainted taking that. My adrenal glands were so week from years of taking prednisone for UC that the T3 was too much to handle. In the article by Ken Blanchard (link above) explains why some people feel bad on it. If your doctor prescribes thyroid medication start with a small dosage and work your way up. Before you start taking thyroid medication research it on the internet, I am telling you from experience. I felt worse when my doctor prescribed synthyroid. Then I tried natural desiccated thyroid, and I almost fainted. Until I found the right balance. You should get the following book it was very helpful but do not take the supplements listed in the book. “Why do I have thyroid symptoms? When my lab test are normal.” It will explain a lot. I been to 3 different endo’s one wanted to prescribe medication the other two did not. If you read the NTH forum a lot of people have the same issues, until I found a doctor from their list that was willing to work with me. I spent a lot of time and money on endo's.
Most people with gluten intolerance or allergy have those genes that run in the family. So, you should try to limit or eliminate the amount of gluten your child eats to be on the safe side.
