lpleidholm,
Really think you need a colonoscopy if you are experiencing "moderate to severe" bleeding with every bowel movement and have for almost three months now. Your disease might not be confined to the rectum and you may need to be on oral 5ASA medication in addition to the enemas. That would be a good idea in any case given the capacity of oral 5ASAs to limit cancer risk in patients with ulcerative colitis. If its reliably proctitis and only proctitis, the next step likely would be steroid suppositories or enemas to force remission, but these cannot be relied upon for maintenance. But I'm somewhat uncomfortable with the limited nature of your examination. Keep us advised.
