Hi,
I am another SCDer, about 70 days on the diet, at the same time of inception also starting prednisone treatment with mesalamine enemas.
I have had tremendous improvement withall three, I am practically off the prednisone, my mental state is back and I use the loo on average once a day, sometimes less or more, but either way an improvment.
The thing about the SCD and that you'll understand from the book is that it's a diet created for people with injured intestines. Therefore all of these foods are easier and healthier for our bodies. So basically after every meal, I never feel grosse. I never feel bloated, or lethargic from eating, like what you what feel after eating fast food or just a lot of carbs.
There is a massive learning curve to the diet, if you stick to it, it requires lifestyle change.
A lifestyle for a diet? I know you didn't ask for this, but think of the lifestyle change this disease has brought to you! Pack your own foods, subscribe to scdlifestyle.com get a good probiotic, make the yogurt, get the almond flour, tell your parents, and good luck. Your gut will thank you.
Be well and heal well
