Dr out of country until Wed. Daughter in terrible flare. Humira and prednisone not working. Been two weeks. Doctors front desk gal mentioned a shot of solumedrol at the ER....any thoughts?

I would go to the ER immediately. Poor little mite. I do hope she finds some relief. All the best.

I am sorry to hear that. Have you changed the diet of child? No diary, no white rice, no raw fruit or vegetables. Google online for anti inflammatory food and only eat those.

ER to check labs, stool test. Maybe Flagyl, ask about it. Certain ABX can shut down a flare. I would also use S. Boulardii every time there is D. I think a flare is a result of sick gut flora, so IMO, you need to focus on "shocking" that area and rebuilding it.

What about trying to give her L-Glutamine powder, and slippery elm powder?

I'm so sorry about your daughter. I agree with Trojen, IV abx might help, they're used at our ped hospital for flares. Usually IV vanco. I hope you find something that works and fast. Please keep us posted, you are in my thoughts.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I think you should get her to hospital. Maybe try IV pred as this will work better than oral. I also agree to give antibiotics a shot. As Killcolitis said my son used vancomycin and it worked well together with IV pred. Hopefully something will work.
