Anyone knows where to find a prescription discount card or discount coupons for Asacol?

Hi

I am new to the forum.

There is no insurance so I am looking for a prescription discount card or saving coupons for this very expensive medicine.

I wll appreciate so much if anyone in the forum that has found some can point me in the right direction.

Also if you have AAA, if in the USA, you can use the for RX discounts. It will tell you on their website how much it will cost.

I was getting my Asacol free through the Proctor & Gamble patient assistance program before I had insurance.  Last I knew they discontinued the program.  Having a job with health insurance has become a priority in my life.

Don't forget to ask your dr about samples/coupons.

Canadian pharmacies can also be cheaper. If you aren't allergic to sulfa, sulfasalazine is also less expensive.

Ask your doctor. If he or she doesn't have info., call the customer service number listed on the Asacol website. I do not believe there will be a discount card for Asacol (there may be for the newer Asacol HD or Lialda though) but if you are considered low-income you may qualify for their low-income program. good luck. No one should have to worry about if they can afford their medicines! Hate that we have to.

I got one from my GI..I also agree. I see him and complain about how much it costs and he heads right for the supply cabinet to give me samples..

Because when I asked my doctor a few months ago for coupons or samples, a rep over the phone said they don't do that anymore ??

Stereo, I was there in early December to see him and he gave me 3 of the 3-pack samples.

BTW I ordered the natural suppositories you mention yesterday and hope to get them in a couple day. Are you still using them daily?

I get my Asacol from my dr., the rep brings them and I have a good relationship with my GI's secy, I assume you know that Asacol generic is mesalamine, which is not available yet here in the states. Maybe Canada?? I take 6 Asacol-HD 850 mg. per day. That's 5100 total per day and still am in a flareup.

I think the coupon is about $50, a drop in the bucket for the cost of this med.

Taking Humira--just had starter kit on 2/22, will see how that goes; Prednisone, 40 mg./day; probiotic, 3/day, dicyclomine, 3/day--supposed to help cramping

When I am searching for the discount coupons to the medicine of Asacol then I gather some kind of information in this website about where can I find. I hope with that detail, I get the solution for my problem. What is the general discount percentage will be offered on this kind of medicine? If anyone knows, Please share that attachments.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in April of 2012. After numerous visits with my doctor and exploratoy scopes, my gastroenterologist prescribed Asacol last September(2013) and he gave me a Asacol discount card to use when I initially filled my prescription for Asacol, so the monthly precirptions have been FREE! Since taking Asacol on a regular basis, my last scope revealed that ALL of my ulcertations have healed! Thank you, Asacol! You've changed my life!

There may be a card for $50 off of Asacol HD copay, but that is small help if you do not have insurance. Also, other similar cards (like the one I have for Lialda) can be gotten online. These seem only to be what drug rep gives doctor. They may be phasing them out in some areas.

Jax: I'm confused. In your other thread you said you've had UC for about 3 years and were posting about a Lialda discount card.
