Cramping Is the ONLY Symptom! What's that??

Everytime my period arrives it wreaks havoc on my UC. Since january ive been in the same vicious cycle of using enemas/supps religiously and watching what i eat then my period comes and back to zero. I've added glutamine a month ago which helped alot, changed my probiotic to one that gas acidophilus and rhamnaosis and boulardii and added slippery elm 2 tsp (also a month ago) and have been feeling absolutely great except for tiny trace of blood in stools. Then i added terramin clay only a 1/4 teaspoon (very small amount i know) and the blood disappeared within a day ir two it was amazing. 6 days after using the terramjn my period started (as scheduled) and ofcourse with it came cramping as expected. There was only a minor increase in urgency during the first days of the period then everything was ok...EXCEPT FOR THE CRAMPING!!! Today is the 9th day of my cycle and my period is finished but i still have this cramping that is mild to moderate in severity
And is right under my belly button in the middle.
First i was getting it in the morning only but now it is there all day and it comes and goes. There hasn't been a change in my bowels my stools are formed and there is no blood or mucous. I have stopped the clay 2 days ago thinking maybe that's whats causing it but since then the cramping has become CONTINUOUS OFF AND ON THROUGHOUT THE DAY. With the cramping there is some nausea but when the cramping goes the nausea goes too.

Im thinking of making an apptmnt to see the doc im getting desperate with the constant pain!!! I couldn't sleep last night bc of the pain. What could this be? I do not have Gynocogical problems/diseases.

Any suggestions? Can a flare start this way?

I am having similar problems.  I'm starting to think it's related to a hormone problem, so I'm going to have some blood work done.

As far as endometriosis, I believe you can only really diagnose it with a laproscope.  Has anyone talked to you about this?  That you may have it on your intestines?  My doctors said as a last resort they would want to do this.

I have very painful periods all my life. Every single month I had to take many pain relievers for about 30 years. Since my diagnoses with UC, they even got worse, more painful and very weird. I could get periods every 12 days a few times in a row, then in 26 days, sometimes in 30 days and every time very painful. Because I "load" myself with Aleve (I had so much pain), my UC would get much worse: more blood, more BMs.. What is interesting since I have started on the Clays ( both Terramin and Pascalite) the periods seams to get better, more normal. In fact today is the 54th day on the clays for me, I had 2 periods during this time and these 2 periods are the only periods in my life that I did not take some kind of pain reliever. I still had cramps and some pain, but I would mix 1tsp of Pascalite clay, drink about 1/3 of the glass and within 20 min the pain would disappear. The first time it happened (I was taking for my UC) I was so surprised I could not believe it. The pain would start to come back in about 3 hours or so, I would drink some more clay water and surely it would work again. Terramin works similarly, but not quite as well.
What I am trying to say is I am not sure what exactly is going on with you. Considering you only took 1/4tsp of Terramin, I do not think it caused your cramps. You probably will think I am a crazy nut, but I would suggest you to try what I did: mix 1tsp of Terramin in a glass of water, drink 1/3 of it, wait 20-25 min and see how you feel.

@Lookforcure: i don't imagine that the clay could give me such cramps either but the truth is the cramping started after 5 days on the clay and now although my period is finished 2 days ago the cramps are still there. I dunno it's very weird i don't normally get such bad periods, however i have noticed that since giving birth or having UC that i get worse cramping on the last days of the period...but not after it's finished!!!
Im scared to try the clay at this stage in fear it may make me worse :(

I would stop all your supplements at this point. Do not take anything for at least 3 days and see how you feel. If you get better start taking again l-glutamine first. Take only it for 3 days. If you fine at this point take Terramin again and do not add anything else for 2 weeks.
I think it is your probiotics and maybe slippery elm to some degree in combination.

put a heating pad on your belly and lie down. Also, drink some warm chamomile or peppermint tea. These things used to help me when I was very sick with my UC.
The main thing is to stop all the stuff you take for a few days, wait till you feel better and start adding 1 by 1 very slowly and stick with 1 product for a while. This way you will know what causes your problems.
I am taking only the clays. No drugs, no any other supplements and I take 3, sometimes even 4teaspoons of the clays (Terramin and Pascalite) per day. That is way I am really doubting that 1/4 of teaspoon of Terramin clay can cause the cramping. In fact both clays ease the pain and cramps for me, not cause them.
