Has anyone tried Serovera?

Hi.

Just wanted to know if anyone has tried Serovera. I have a friend who like me has acute UC and has been steriod dependant for a couple of years.

He figured he had nothing to lose by trying Serovera and He thinks it's working after being on it for about 3 weeks. He's has his first formed stool in

a couple of years. Sounds great, but I can't help being sceptical of natural therapies and I think he may be having abit of the old placebo effect.

I've been searching the net but I can't find alot of people with actual experience with Serovera that isn't part of their online advertising.

So just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with it.

P.S Sorry if this topic has already been posted before but I couldn't find anything on it.

 Hi

 I've been using Serovera AMP for 16 months now.

 It has given me my life back after years of crohn's.

 It took a few months to reach 1oo% remission - but i never got anywhere near that on Steroids,Immunos etc...........

 i now lead a normal life,free of the restrictions i had before(sure you understand).

 I highly recommend it

I had never heard of it - I just looked it up.
It doesn't look as if it would hurt, except maybe in the pocketbook... and who knows, it might help some people.

Just an update

I bit the bullet and bought one jar of Serovera.

Within 12 hours I was bleeding fairly heavy. Never happens this soon into a flare. Stopped taking it and the bleeding stopped. No improvement to report from taking it. You could argue I haven't been taking it long enough to see any results but the bleeding really put me off and I'm not going to tolerate it just to find out it may not work months down the track.

Very dissapointed especially considering the price.

Not saying it won't work for everyone, just not for me. Use with caution.

I've seen a few people mention this stuff here and I've never seen anyone with positive feedback. Maybe you can return it and get your money back? I would call them.

 Sorry to hear that - it just seems to show their is no sure fire bullet with IBD,just like with the meds.

 Your friend sounded like he was doing well.I've had great results.Crazy!

I have been trying it for the past couple weeks and started bleeding. Everywhere you search Aloe mucilaginous polysaccharides which is in Serovera, you see good things, however in SCD, she forbids eating aloe vera because of mucilaginous polysaccharides. Who else has tried this? My GI Dr. does not believe on these things but I have seen so many great reviews online, which I can tell you all of them are done by the company and not a real person.

I'm sorry it's not working for you either. The more I investigate the more it appears to be abit of a rip-off with a nice poilished site and web campaign to back it up. I suppose that doesn't really explain why my friend does so well on it besides a very strong placebo effect.
Hope I can get some money back but as it's a U.S based company and I'm in Australia I'm not going to hold my breath.
I've always been rather sceptical of natural remedies but my step-father was always into all that alternative stuff with a healthy scepticism of big pharmaceuticals so I though I'd try it his way for once but unfortunatley it seems I was right on this score at least.
With a one month supply costing $160 AU delivered and the accompanying reading material suggesting it takes 3 months to see benefits in a flare @ 9 capules per day then suggesting a maintenance dose of 3 per day ongoing they've certainly set themselves up nicely for ongoing treatment.

If you look up AMP on Wiki or medical journals there is not alot of evidence to suggest it could be benificial for something as severe as UC/Chrons. There brochures go as far as to say it beneficial to Cancer/Aids sufferers! I hope it's not a con because picking on people as desperate as ourselves is truely low.

Maybe I'm too sceptical but I'm not going to take anything that makes me bleed like that.

I had an Aloe product shipped from the UK that was specially processed for UC and Crohns and it never hurt me but it never helped me either.

Hi,

I have tried a lot of these AMP products, and they helped me tremendously for a number of years. I think they lose their potency after a while though as it seems less effective these days. I am currently using Serovera, and it seems to help a bit. Incidentally, my brother also has UC, and he reckons Serovera is helping him loads. Just goes to show we all react differently i guess.

Evidence of reviews? Just google the word and you see all the websites that are talking about this but its actually are posted by Serovera company. Or go to Youtube and see all the videos that are posted by the company. I am assuming you dont know SEO but you cannot find an actual person writes a review.

My main question was is SCD is right? She said no Aloe Vera, but everywhere says you should have Aloe Vera:

I have to agree with Mastermike there.

I tried for a long time to find independant reviews but everthing about Serovera seems to be cut and pasted from their website.

Do you follow the SCD diet? I tried it and it didn't work for me.

I've tried a lot of natural supplements but I haven't tried serovera. Their website looks like a pretty slick marketing scheme but I wouldn't buy into it. It's really expensive and I haven't seen anyone say anything positive aabout it.

I have tried serovera base a goodfriends recommendation. He is a male in his 30's with UC. The strongest drug he has ever been on was asacol. There were times he was so sick he could not keep water down. I don't think his entire colon was affected though. He started taking it and noticed improvement within a month. He remained on it for months feeling great. He stopped taking it when hey moved houses and the bleeding began within a few weeks he went back on it and the bleeding was gone.
I believe his story because: 1. He has nothing to gain by telling me about it. 2. I have personally seen that he eats and drinks whatever he wants. So decided to try it out and it seemed to help but not to the extent it did with him.

My point is you never know what your body will respond to until you try it. You just have to ask yourself if it's worth spending a few hundred dollars to see. For him it wad worth it. I'm still on the fence but I have a whole new bottle that I'm thinking of trying again.

I agree, even my GI doctor does not believe in diet or any natural medication since they are not proven to be working. But, I am doing SCD diet and it tells you not to use Aloe Vera!!! So I am confused is it good or bad for you?

 I've had terrific success with Serovera.

 During the many years i suffered i took Steroids(Prednisoline)Azathioprine,6mp,Pentasa.

 I turned down trying methotrexate because i had such dreadful problems with side affects with immunosuppresion meds.

 I had 2 resections which got me out of the awful pain etc but each time within 6-12 months the illness slowly came back.

 I was really sceptical before i chose to give it a try,but for myself it has given me complete remission.

 I don't think their is a 'sure fire bullet' for CD/UC patients.

 I'm so thankful i found mine.

1. I am on SCD for 7 months. It is not really (I don’t know, but my nutritionist PhD wife is sure about its performance) helping me. At least SCD is not hurting me. I know it will take time to make me symptoms free. I do not like baking things, but I have no choice and for me SCD is very hard to follow. But, I will be stick on it (although almond does not suite me). I was about to die in my last flare-up (50 times/day washroom visit).
2. If you are on SCD, Aloe Vera is illegal. AMP (Aloe Mucilagious Polysaccharide) is the main component for SEROVERA and also ALOE ELIT the two popular advertised alternative supplements or therapy for ulcerative colitis patient. It is completely okay to try these products. But I myself did not find anybody real who is benefited by either product. And this is my frustration.
3. I tried ALOE ELIT similar to SEROVERA. Same things happened @Lurch.... blood in stool just after two-three days of intake. I quitted. Funny thing is I bought 3 bottoles as it was cheaper.
4. I am on a Ayurveda therapy, and it is working for me. It is very hard to get in your door step.
5. SCD is my food, prescribed medicine is my medicine, and alternative therapy is my support.

Not sure I understand 4 regarding door step. Which ayurveda therapy ? I was holding two bottles of some ayurvada but passed as I research a lot but had never heard of the ingredients.

Just wanted to chime in on the AMP/serovera topic. I have no dog in this hunt but like a number of you am curious as to why there have never been any studies whatsoever, not even open label. However, if you go to pubmed.com and enter terms such as "aloe vera colitis" one will get a number of hits testing aloe vera gel and similar compounds on rats chemically induced with colitis as well as a couple on humans and they did indicate some benefit.

Some years back before they renamed themsekves Serovera, I did buy one of those expensive bottles of AMP capsules and it had no effect on me whatsoever... however for me that was still interesting, because aloe vera (including George's aloe vera juice which was recommended to me as
gentle) juices and gels have previously put me into flare ups with considerable pain and diarhea. So possibly there is at least something to the way that serovera is processed that makes it less irritating.

Still, the whole aloe vera question in general confuses me because the pubmed articles do not mention any side effects, and yet I know many as well as myself who have reported that aloe vera is harsh on their gut. The fact that AMP was not causing me side effects makes me consider trying it again, but I too would like to see some independent test results for what may well be nothing more than cheap aloe repackaged and marked up by 500 percent by some shysters.

An older thread had a website that claimed AMP was a fraud, however that site was taken down and who kows if that was a legit attack or not- the site creator may have had his own axe to grind. We have to be constantly on guard with anonymous forum postings of all stripes, because it is standard practice for hucksters to post testimonials on forums now. I would trust AMP more if they would sell a smaller sample bottle to try, say 30.00 worth.

Just a note from one of the resident skeptics. East Upper has been registered at HW since 2009 and as far as I can tell, every post he or she has made is an endorsement for Serovera. Please keep in mind that some of the manufacturers employ people to do this, and sometimes people who do this are actually dealers of the product.

Just a sad caution, as there are always people willing to take advantage of our misery.
