started prednisolone today

Hi im new just started pred today im starting off at 40mg for 7days then to 35mg for 7 days and so on till i finish at 5mg.... Ive googled it and all ive found is negative feed back and now im sitting here worrying my lil heart out... It would be nice to find people in the same boat as me for someobe to talk to cos noone seens to understand.... Sorry for spelling miatakes im ob my phone

I really hope it works for me im celebrating my 30th in 4 weeks and it will be nice not have to worry aboit not making it to the toilet..... Im just worried about the mental side as im suffering with pnd i have my really bad days with that

Agree with ssarow. It's a great drug for me as it always takes care of my symptoms. However, it does make me have a hair-trigger temper and causes a lot of weight gain. Part of the weight gain is my fault because I tend to crave high salt/high fat foods on prednisone. The good news is that the lower the dose, the lesser the side effects for me and many others. The weight also goes away once you are off the drug.

Thank u so much... My oh Have been reading up about it and have been doing a shopping list so he going shopping and buying good stuff im.not allowed in a shop my choice lol

For what its worth I've been at 40mg pred a few times now, and the only side-effects I have had are being really hungry and some acne.

My first time on Prednisone was great. I felt better really quickly, gained back some of the weight I'd lost, and had a ton of energy. The second time wasn't as good but it still got the job done in the end. Insomnia was my biggest problem.

Make sure you're taking a calcium supplement!

I felt like the energizer bunny the first two weeks on the prednisone. I took advantage of all that restless energy and thoroughly clean my home from top to bottom, including scrubbing my baseboards and using an old toothbrush in the corners ... that was how wired I was.

I never had the moon face, weird hair growing, mood swings or weight gain ... just got a little tired in weeks 3 and 4 ....
