Hello,
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but i also have the same occurrence and would just like to share. A few years ago i was flaring quite bad and landed myself into hospital with iron infusions and electrolyte drips. But i also was diagnosed with a type of blood infection (my skeletal muscles where stiffening up and hurt every time i moved quite badly), so i was placed on 1 month of amoxicillin my symptoms disappeared i was on a heavy dose of steroids at the time (i think around 40mg of pred.) but while i was taking the antibiotic i could just stop the steroid completely as well any other medications. I could eat whatever i wanted and experimented with certain foods such as chips, foods with cheese such as kebabs and pizza no symptoms at all, stools 100% normal. After completing the amoxicillin about
2 months symptoms slowly returned. I have been on antibiotics once more after this due to another infection and the same thing occurred (i was on antibiotics for 2 weeks) but was symptom free for a shorter period of time.
Another time i was at a party and i was with some friends and decided to do vodka shots, my symptoms again disappeared for about
4 days ( i thought i would for sure flare up i was surprised).
Plz. note that even though symptoms disappeared that the next flare up would be always worse than the one before it.
It lead me to assume there was a microbial diversity problem where there could possibly be 1 dominate strain, and antibiotics would reduce the number of this strain (relieving symptoms) but also the rest of the population. This meant that when this dominate strain began to multiply again (which would be at a greater rate) it would become more dominate due to decreased number of rest of population (slower rate of growth). this would mean worse symptoms.
Thanks
