children with uc or crohn

Just very curious for people that have children with there's diseases , what were some of the first symptoms ? My daughter had diarrhea last month causes few days off and on , causes pain sometimes , Dr said gastro virus , its been 3 weeks and today she had had diarrhea and some mucus , I have uc and scares me to death to think one of mine might have something , any advice would be great , sitting here worrying doesn't help me !

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. My 8 yo son suffered from constipation before he was diagnosed. The doctors never suggested he might have intestinal or flora problems. Instead they gave him a mild laxative and said eat more fibre; which probably made things worse. Following two rounds of antibiotics close together he began having D and blood. From what I know now he probably had a gut flora imbalance before but the antibiotic triggered his first full blown flare.
