Pred question

I've been getting lightheaded alot recently (working out, climbing stairs, sitting up - haha). I've been on pred for quite awhile and I've had several different health care workers say it's the pred. I guess it amplifies ALL of the effects of your body, including hormones the regulate BP. So you can have big swings up and big swings down.

In addition, it messes with your electrolyte balance. It makes you retain salt, which makes you retain water, which messes up your potassium/salt balance or something.

My GI has always told me to make sure I drink enough fluids and eat the right things. So it could be either of those. At any rate, pred. can make you light headed.

I drink a lot of water throughout the day. However last Wednesday and Thursday I just felt horrible; nautious, light headed, sleepy. I improved dramatacially about an hour after I chugged a Gatorade.

I seriously would have thought my water intake was enough but guess I needed some electrolytes.

I love coconut water its just expensive :(. But yeah so strange because for instance I just ate a meal and I still feel light headed. stupid pred :(

Gatorade does have alot of sugar. G2 has less sugar but has artificial sweeteners. I'm not very strict on my diet so I go with the seemingly lesser of evils for me (G2).

I might like coconut water better if I could manage to find some that wasn't also loaded down with sugar/ artificial sweetener! I know it exists, I just never see it.

I found this awesome coconut water I cant remember now the name though lol. It was like a little clear bottle it says raw organic coconut water on it. It was amazing!!

Yeah, I am strict or not depending on the day with my diet lol. But I would say I wish coconut water was cheap I would drink it like crazy!

After being diagnosed for a few months, I decided to go Paleo. I was probably Paleo for about a month. Even gave up Peanut Butter!!! I started Paleo while active flaring, just on Asacol at the time. I ended up in the hospital for a few days when my flare went really bad. Paleo wasn't to blame, it just didn't seem to help my UC at all.

can't you just buy coconut milk in the can and add water ?

Active- I feel like mine changes around as well. Do you eat grains?

Talking about the coconut water: I like the Real Coconut water the best. I get it in nearby grocery store. It is 100% coconut water and not from concentrate.
Next best coconut water that I like is Vita Coco and I usually get it from Amazon. It has vitamin C added to it. I have seen Vita Coco being sold occasionally in Walmart and Walgreens too.
As ChrissySoul mentioned, only issue is that they are expensive.
