I can tell you that I didn't eat any gluten for the week and yesterday I had a tuna sub and a piece of pizza (AHHH!!!) and this AM I have visited the bathroom way too much for my liking. All week I was going once in the AM and would wipe perfectly clean! This AM that is not the case.
I am seeing a wellness counselor/nutritionist right now and she has told me to eliminate sugar as well as gluten from my diet. I need to eat a lot of steamed "root" veggies and a small amount of meat. I can eat fruit but I need to eat it by itself, not with any kind of yogurt or anything. I can add good fats to my veggies (like coconut oil) and some spices for flavoring and of course can always add gluten free pastas.
She stated that most of us have an abundance of yeast in our bodies and that yeast causes problems with digestive issues to be worse. Yeast feeds off of sugar therefore makes you crave it all of the time so if you can eliminate the sugar then you eliminate the yeast in your body and in turn you have a better defense system against the symptoms that we tend to have. I am now only using Stevia for sweetener and if I get a pang for sugar I just drink tea or eat a piece of "sour" fruit (fruit without much natural sugars in it). I also am drinking raw organic Apple Cider Vinegar in water with lemon every AM. I have seen marked improvement. I am on Prednisone so that is what got me into this remission after being very sick for 2 weeks but I decided to take this opportunity to change everything about my eating and lifestyle to see what happens. It can never hurt, that's for sure!
Sounds like you're on a similar path as me! It takes a while to rid the body of candida/yeast, and it sure as hell can manifest in a multitude of ways like crohns and colitis. I too avoided sugar (#1 inflammatory food), fruits and bread products, took some great supplements and behold! Less cravings and less problems in the bathroom.
If there is anything I want to get across to others on this forum, its that Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw/organic) is amazing for getting yeast/parasite/fungi under control! My dog is a total testament to this.
For the past 3 summers, he's had wild allergies. He bites himself, scratches, his ears were red and inflamed, he too was on prednisone, and we had to put up with his little ear-fits every day... but I read up on ACV and started mixing 1-2teaspoons in his treats/dog food daily, and within two weeks, he stopped the scratching! I was so happy about
this. :) May not work for everyone, but this is one of those methods of treatment doctors usually overlook, unless you are visiting specialists/nutritionists/naturopaths.
