Trying Beta Glucan

Was diagnosed with severe ucerative coilitis, and pan colitis 06/11 I am currently taking pentasa 2 pills 3x daily, vsl3, and remicade every 6 weeks . My cousin is taking this natural stuff Beta Glucan suppose to help with immune system and inflammation. Spoke with doctor he suggested not to take it, said that your immune system is one of the factors to ulcerative colitis was just curious if anybody has tried this stuff. At this point I will take anything if it would make me feel any better also on medicated enemas and suppositories. Thanks ahead for your time

It was restartyl I started 500 2x a day then they wanted me to taper down to 300 2x daily couldn't make 3 weeks I have constant pain in desending colon and rectum and it just made it worse judging by the amount of pain meds I had to consume was curious if some one else had tried it my cousin convinced me to try it. Supposenly suppose to help with inflammation

Ya GI doc had me on Asacol and I had to use mesaline enemas and proctofoam for rectum pain was unberrable now that he switched me to pentasa and upped the remicade to every 6 weeks seems I only have to take as needed
