Yes I saw it. She alluded to having a pouch. I wish she would have talked about it more or Whoopie would have allowed her too. We need a strong loud spokes person to openly speak about this. I'm not strong enough to tell my colleagues, friends or the guy I'm currently seeing. Since I told him I was in hospital I haven't heard from him. And really, I don't know how I was supposed to go away with him this weekend anyway:(

But yes, we have celebrities talking about Aids & if course cancer but know one talks about IBD.

Amy is like...oh yeah...had this thing, had my colon taken out...then they joke about that...and they go on to another subject.

lollolololololololol ....taking the colon out...all in a day's work. lololol

She looks in shape though. More in shape than me before UC. lol You wouldn't know she had a big operation like that.

I actually googled and found a link to a magazine article and now I don't remember the magazine--maybe Prevention?  Anyhow, it seems she had it for about 5 years before the surgery and tried what lots of people do--drugs, diet, etc.   I don't think she specifically mentioned the pouch but did mention a second surgery to remove the ileostomy, I think that's how it was worded.  She looks great and is 45.  Makes me feel not so old.  ;-)

I would have also liked her to go into more detail about it. It's clear she was timid, stalling in her voice and looking around at the View women, looking to see what they had to say. And I really would have thought that Elizabeth Hasslebeck would have chimed in, because after reading her book, she suffers from celiac or gluten issues, which isn't too far away from IBD.

Always a great thing when celebrities go public though. I think the Pearl Jam bassist is still battling with his colon.
