i've noticed every doctor has such a different protocol of what they want to do. i've seen like 4 GI docs in the past two years, and for my first flare, my doctor (i'm not even kidding) put me on cipro, flagyl, prednisone, 6mp, canasa, remicade, prilosec, and zofran all within a 10 day period. i had no clue what i was doing or really anything about the disease so i just figured this was normal. looking back on it, i am so upset that my doctor took advantage of me like that- he's one of the "best" in pittsburgh. i still have no idea which medicine was helping and what was causing all my horrendous side effects.
i haven't tried the SCD yogurt. i'm doing a SCD/paleo/FODMAPS combo and eating the foods that all of the diets agree on- which isn't a lot haha i just figured i'd have my best change of getting better that way. since dairy isn't allowed on paleo or FODMAPS, i figured it would be best if i avoided it all together. i'd be scared of making my own yogurt, too, just because you have to let it get warm and i'd probably screw it up or my dog would eat it.
