I had a friend who had a pretty severe bout with pancreatitis last year. It took him a couple of months but he did recover. I hope she starts to feel a lot better very soon. She has certainly been through a lot.

Kaley is having a multitude of test today to find out why she is still in pain. Hope they finally figure out what's going on.

Do you think your niece would benefit from "get well" cards from random people? The poor girl has been going through so much stuff.

Thanks for the kind offer. Her Mom has over 300 friends on facebook, who are constantly sending prayers and good thoughts. I sent Kaleys Mom a link to this site, but don't think she has been here.

The latest is her blood count is dropping again. There has to be a bleed they are not finding. My sister was there yesterday and again late with the test and trouble getting transport back to room. If this is suppose to be a top rated hospital I sure wouldn't want to be in a poorly rated one.

Took my hubby to Neurologist last week when I said, "We are from Florida", he responded AH! the malpractice state. I'm beginning to believe he may be right!

Oh my...what a comforting comment from the Neurologist!!

If there comes a time when you think we can offer your niece or her family some kind of emotional support (cards, comment thread, etc.), just let us know and in what form.

I would love to send a card even if it is an ecard. It is important she know that people care for her and are thinking about her.

Aunt Betty,

Hi, how is your niece doing? Is she at the new Children's Hospital in Orlando? My daughter had pancreatitis from her medicines also, it did take her sometime to start eating again. They should be giving her some kind of pain meds for her pain.

A lot of people are suggesting she take her to new hospital that just opened. I just messaged the Mom about sending cards or ecard. She is going to get back to me. Right now they are saying gall bladder and stomache very imflamed. The want to do exploratory again. Needless to say Mom is very upset. The poor kid has been through
so much pain already. Kaley can't even drink gastorade without pain!

Worried Mom I was hoping you were right and she would start eating again, but sounds like her problem is different from your daughter

PS: I liked that neurologist he had a sign on his door that said, "I know you got your diagnosis on the internet and your here for a second opinion, and every time hubby got a answer wrong he would say is that your final answer. He had my daughter and I cracking up. Unfortunately, he thinks hubby has parkinson's to add to his other ailments.

Aunt Betty,

I guess I should have explained more, my daughter had uc also. She was checked for everything. None of the medicines seemed to work for her. She was on remicade and it wasnt working. She had to have her colon removed. Had the ostomy bag for 8 weeks, then she had it reversed. Her surgeon that did her j-pouch is at the new Nemus Children's Hospital. He was great with my daughter. She really liked and trusted him.

Her friends have been suggesting the new Nemus hospital, but her Mom trusts this GI doc. I'm not so sure, because she got her md in Columbia, then studied in Miami and Jacksonville. I like to see where doc's get their degrees it means a lot to me.
