Humira for UC now approved? Anyone trying it?

I saw my doc yesterday and he said there are some patients who are doing great on Remi...so if you're willing to go that route, you should consider it sooner than later.

Have you tried Methotrexate yet?

That is great news!!!!! I looked it up and found this link from the FDA, just knowing there is another option out there that my ins. co would now be able to approve, if ever needed......woo hoo!

I would definitely try Humira and and when my GI and I didn't think 6mp was going to work for me, she was ready to give me a prescription for Humira/Remicade. She seems to prefer Humira over Remicade simply for the ease of use. She also said it's possible to stop 6mp if you take Humira, where as Remicade, it's best if you stay on the immunesupressant so you don't build up antibodies. I ended up getting results from 6mp and didn't go that route but I am really happy Humira is approved now. If I had needed something more back then, I would have had to try Remicade first. I hope you find something that works for you soon. I hate to see you go so long with UC symptoms.
