Help, Witz End

Hello Everyone,

Just looking for a few answers where to go from here.  It seems my remicade has stopped working.  I have been having blood and mucus between infusions.  I thought my doctor would just increase dossage/frequency, but he wants to go a flex sigmoid first.  I had two glases of wine last Thursday night (very small ones), came home home felt fine, went to bed.  All night was just struggling with gas pain.  Got up the next morning to go to work was almost ready and then my stomach just exploded could not stop going to the bathroom, red blood, mucas and abdominal and back pain horrible.  My husband made me go to the ER.  They gave me pain meds, zophran and prednisone and lots of fluids.  Hemoglobin was fine per the doctor. 

Had bad pain all weekend, but not much movement.  Still red blood tho.  Last night suffered all night with bad abdominal stomach pains and woke up constipated.  Could not push anything out even though it felt like it was right there.  It was stuck.  I went to work.  My stomach blew up.  Pain terrible, red blood and stayed in the fetal position for three hours until the D and cramping stopped.  I have been on the Prednisone since Friday.  Anyone have these experiences.  Came on so quick.  Oh yeah, and I D my pants before I could run int he house to the toliet. 

 

With symptoms that bad, I'd call your doc. Maybe you can get in for the flex sig really soon.

And yes, I had a couple of accidents at home when I was flaring. Luckily, mine only happened at home.

I am on 40 ml.  I am having the flex done tomorrow morning.  They are also testing me for c-diff and this other fecal test that shows inflamation in the bowel.  Have not had that one before.  Ususally once I have several bouts of D my cramps lesson, that is just not the case this time.  So much pressure and pain. 

Yes, Canasa. They called me in a script for those as well. Hope to know more tomorrow and get to the bottom of this mess. Gosh, this stuff can really make you depressed.

Had the flex yesterday morning.  Doctor says in a pretty bad flare.  Keeping me on 40 ml of prednisone.  Says he will probably increase the remicade when he gets back the biopsies.  Went on to say some people can think they have UC for along time and then find out they have Chrohns.  Really sore and tender in the stomach area but no D.  Hope it stays that way.  Thanks for all of the help.  I truly appreciate you all listening to my cry!
