Something weird is going on....

I don't know if some of you remember my post about 6mp/foot neuropathy/itching? Well it's been almost 2 weeks without 6mp. The itching lessened and the neuropathy is easing. But now the itching is back on my right arm (no rash) and now I have a rash along the side of my face (temple to jaw, about a 2" wide strip), by my ear and one patch about the size of a quarter near the side of my nose (under the eye area). I've had this rash on the side of my face for a few years but it comes and goes, this time though it has come back with a vengeance and it is itching something fierce! It's also very dry looking and "leathery". The patch by my nose just feels rough and tight (no itching but it's red).

I'm wondering if now I DO have eczema (as one member suggested in my other post). It's not psoriasis because there is no plaque build ups like what I get on my forehead.

Has anyone had eczema begin while on Remi? I've read that it is somewhat rare, I think I read maybe 5% or 7% of people on Remi get it.

I've been using Elidel cream since yesterday and it's starting to help but OMG!!! I am so darn itchy again!

Try coconut oil. Suppose to help with all skin issues. It is cheap and easy.

Lemonhead - coconut oil for topical use yes? Does it need to be mixed with anything?

I have to ditto the coconut oil ... while I am not on 6mp or any biologics, I also developed eczema on my face - pink, leathery, flaky areas (no plaque like psoriasis) - particularly along my jaw line, just below my eyebrows and under my eyes. I started applying virgin organic coconut oil and within a week, I saw great improvement and within 3 weeks, it was completely gone. However, I can no longer use any type of commercial moisturizers as it will come back. I now strictly use coconut oil as a moisturizer ... in the a.m., I allow it to soak in and remove excess and then apply my make-up over it ... no issues. After I wash my face at night with baby shampoo, I re-apply the coconut oil. I have also noticed that with this regiment, I have not really broken out with acne at all and those occasional blackhead and plugged up pores around my nose and t-zone are gone! It seems counter-intuitive to apply an oil on your face, but this coconut stuff is the bomb!

Sherry-have you tried it? Did the coconut oil help any?

I ditto on the coconut oil. My husband used it for his dry scalp and it worked better than those harsh shampoos. I also use it for my hair to thicken it. Glad you are feeling better Sherry!
