any UCers with psoriasis?

I know this isn't the right forum but I'm just curious if there is a relationship between the two. I was diagnosed with psoriasis 6mos-1year before I was diagnosed with UC and ever since they somewhat rise and fall together. I just got off humira of over a year trying to deal with that and neither were ever completely gone (except when on prednisone). Now I am two remicade infusions in (5mg/kg, 8 weeks) and the first one got my psoriasis and colitis under control well. As it came closer to the second infusion, my psoriasis and colitis symptoms both began to appear but after the second infusion (which was a couple days ago) my colitis is fine but my psoriasis shows little to no signs of improvement. I've mainly had it limited to my scalp but the past few weeks I'm starting to see some flares on my arms and chest.

Any one else experience something similar before? If so, any tips other than moisturizing?

Edit: I do have a dermatologist I see about it but right now but the topical medicine he put me on doesn't seem to do anything. And for now I am just curious about any connection between UC and Psoriasis.

My psoriasis started around 4 years before UC diagnosis. I am currently on Taclonex, but it helps just a little.
I may start on Humira in few days - Need to see how it goes with UC and Psoriasis.

I have had psoriasis since I was a small child. I had it all over my body but the worst was my scalp. I was never on any oral or injectable meds just topical. Mostly tar related. Now as an adult I only have it on my scalp and I don't treat it with anything buy with raw hand made oatmeal soap. It helps. But I am finding that when I get a flare it gets worse. I am on Imuran which is suppose to clear it up but I don't see a major change in my psoriasis except it is not very itchy.

I have psoriasis too on my scalp and my ears... Only gets better when on the Prednisone. I hate it!!!

I'm in the psoriasis club as well. I have it on my forehead, down the sides of my face and ears. I got it when I was 16, Uc at 22. When I started on 6mp, it went away. But I recently stopped 6mp and I'm now on Remicade. I'm hoping that it doesn't come back but I have heard that Remicade can actually cause psoriasis to flare. I also recently developed Eczema from the Remicade (like I don't have enough skin conditions! Because I also have Rosacea).

The only thing that really works well for me and helps control the outbreak before it happens is prescription Elidel. If I catch it early enough, the Elidel keeps the redness, itching and plaques at a minimum to nil.

Well I have light psoriasis on my scalp and it itches like crazy! I do only use natural sulphate free shampoo and for now once in a while t gel. But its not severe enough like I had before.

I tend to have a little patch around the eyes once in a while. It's not severe enough to go to the dermatologist but I did a huge clean of my beauty products and keep it simple. Even though before I was always fan of natural unscented products, even those with a close look could hold lots of junks.

So heres what I use:

Face: Simple face wash (like eucerin), handmade goats milk moisturiser during day time and at night bio oil.
For a facial peel I use potatoes that you microwave with the skin. You take off the skin and mash them with a bit of tomatoe juice or honey. Spread it on your face leave it and peel it.
I take out my make up with a cotton pad with milk.

Body: only goats milk. NO perfumes.

Make up: its a hard one try the mineral but personally I didnt like them. However with make up less is more and regular clean of brushes helps.

Shampoo: sulphate free and chemicals free.

Overall the only chemicals you should put on you should be prescribed by your doctor :P
