OMG i shat soooo many times in my car, I feel bad for the car that I turned in a couple years ago. I asked to buy a new seat for it because when you turned on the heater for the seat it stunk like crap! LOL

Now I carry around my big coat that doesn't absorb liquid. And when I go poo, it fills up all the way to my stomach almost no lie. I can't do anything slipperly, no slipperly elm, no fiber, no marshmellow root nothing that turns into a jelly substance.

Thanks somedude you are a real person and call it as you see it and your posts confirm we are not alone!

ipoop - now have an image of someone asking to sit atop that mixer machine at home depot.

I bring on bm's by drinking hot tea and walking around or going up and down steps.

There might be a real and legit correlation to riding in a car somedude, this reminds me of when our first baby had colic and we tried ~everything under the sun~ to stop her crying (basically GI upset). One approach was to drive around and around at night. My husband would find the bumpiest of roads too! Never going straight but we made a lot of left and right hand turns.

Could just be the stress from the fact that you are far from a crapper. I have that alot.

dude, your two posts in that last few weeks were the reason i joined this forum...

i have been there and know the feeling of "yep, we're empty and good to go" before you open the door and then it's "hey man, something is coming down the pipes quick!" as soon as you start the car or go a few blocks away from your house.

it gets better once you find out which wire it is making the time bomb in your brain tick.
for me it was mental anxiety (i had to leave my comfortable hobbit hole), stress (i didn't want to dirty another pair of pants and have to clean myself), and just getting my butt muscle strength back.
it just takes a lot of time. uc for me is like starting your potty training over.

a few things that helped for me:

-i wore and still wear some stylish depends. it limited the stress and gave me confidence to leave, helping me get over the anxiety. they are not so bad. your sweat pants sound like a good start.

-i took a time out whenever i would leave. i worked up to the point where i would get my coat on, have my bag over my shoulder, tie each shoe, hold my keys, and then just lie back on my floor with my knees up. i would lie there and concentrate to find out if i could actually feel my bowels as empty. re-establishing that line in my head was such a relief. bending at the knees simulated the sitting position, which i think also had an impact on my brain.

-walking around, drinking hot tea, bending at the torso...try to shake and shimmy that last bit of junk out of you.

-sometimes i found, and this is not totally healthy, but i don't have the urgency to go if i have to pee as well.

-in the car, get something to sing along to and belt it out. i would belt out beatles tunes all the way to work as loud as i could. it gets your mind of your gut and it gets you breathing.

Somedude, have you tried doing some simple exercises before you leave in the mornings? You already wake up early enough so you could try doing several sets of situps, pushups, and crunches and such. Maybe working your muscles, especially those around your abdomen, might help you empty out in the mornings. As it seems for me, walking/pacing around helps me empty out in the mornings. Can't hurt to try a more vigorous routine for a few mornings and see if there's any improvement.

I haven't read this whole thread, so this may have been mentioned- why not use Immodium on those AM's when you know it's going to be rough??? even a half-dose will get you to work, depending on your commute. Yesterday, for example, by 7:30am I had run to the toilet 4-5 times, lots of loose stools, etc. I just knew it would be touch & go, so I swigged about 4 T of Immodium to get to work. No problem... While I don't mind the occasional accident here & there (I don't like them, but can deal with them as they happen regularly...) if I have any inkling that my drive may be rough, I'd rather use Immodium.

somedude_ I love your posts :D. Even tho that is so stressful :(. I thought today I was gonna experience that too. Because my lady time is the biggest jerkface ever. wish i could use a cooler word there. It's awful. I was crying, driving, haha. AND it was snowing. So could barely see. Then my wind shield wipers get stuck in ice on the windshield, so couldn't see still. lol. NIGHTMARE. Left work because i was too f'ed up to function. Luckily my manager is cool thank god. Now in bed and the potty is just a few steps away :) haha.

Oh I can say it is definitely mental too because in the mornings sometimes people will be in the shower that i use thats connected to my room, and just knowing I can't use the bathroom then makes me feel like I gotta go. I'm like no colon. But it always gets what it wants lol :(

Oh AND I was thinking about grabbing the plastic bag I had my lunch in to poop in if I had to cuz I read that on your last post someone said it haha. So I was relieved to know I could poo in a bag in the back seat if worse came to worse.

Long time lurker on a different name, first time poster on my 'new,none can find me' name lol. somedude i can totally relate. just today, i wake up in the wee hours before work ....to get ready for the wonderful drive to work...usually by the time i have to go to work, its been at least an hour of 'wait to poo before driving'. i always know that on the drive i have on the weekends, about 45 mins, i will have to stop somewhere..at least once. so i feel ok, no urges yet. normally my first urge will show up as soon as i start the car, and sometimes ill have to shut it off and make the run back inside to hopefully make it to the porcelain thrown before 'the party starts' ..as it may...anyway, back to the drive...my first decision i have to make as i pull away is do i stop right away at the corner station to 'try' to go ,or wait till i think i have to go....but maybe dont have to...but should stop anyway. i drive past. still feeling ok but still always thinking about the moment ill HAVE to go. ok, fast forward to the halfway mark. still feeling ok, but as always seems to be the case...as soon as i get that false feeling that all is ok...i have to go. decision two...slight feeling of urgency...at a red light..gas station just past it. do i stop...as i am pondering the choice, i drive by without stopping...oops..ok, now do i pull a u-turn and still stop or wait 5 mins for the next opportunity for a 'clean' getaway. i keep going, my urge has disappeared into the unknown. i am now in the somewhat unpopulated area of the drive, about 15mins from work. now i begin the thought process of where i will NEED to pull over to make a quick mark of my land. thinking to myself, "yep, i pooed there, ...oh i could just pull down that country road and make a quick stop n drop...ok, almost there, ill go when im at work". well soon as i pass the prethought drop site, i HAVE to go. NOW. ok start the countdown...10..9..8..gotta pull over noooow...i dart down the first road, make a quick check of any cars coming...clear...4...3..slam the brakes, literally squeeling to a stop, and yes i smelled the burning tires lol..2..1..in one fluid motion, i swing the door open, hop out using the door as 'privacy cover', and drop trow and squat. thankfully i made the deposit without having to resort to the emergency change of clothes i carry at all times while driving to work. close one this time, but there seems to be at least 2 or 3 times in a month that ive called it too close and had to do the roadside change. I too am on remicade, still not the miracle drug it was hoped to be....i am considering the surgery, but at the same time i hate to give up on the colon since ive fought for the last 10 years to keep it. just as soon as its gone im sure some miracle cure all will show up and ill be kicking myself....maybe. anyway. hope youre feeling better. it sucks to have to deal with this everyday. i feel like a computer with a virus. this constant thought of 'wheres the bathroom' takes up too much of my mental processing power. know what i mean?
