Thoreau,
I am not a morning person myself and never was but it the last so many years I've had to get up for my kids hockey and be at an arena at 6am. In the begining I thought OMG how am I gonna do this but as time went on I learned that I need to exercise (makes me sleep better), I take melatonin 30 min before bed (helps adjust sleep cycles), I try to get to bed by 10:30pm, make sure my room is dark and cool, no tv's in the bedroom, and I never nap or sleep in past 7am, definately no drinks with caffeine past 3pm.
If you do get up between 4-6am if its closer to 6 get up and go for a run, you will feel great. This way by 10 or 11 you will be tired to go to sleep for the night.
Your body will eventually adjust.
One thing that does wire me sometimes is the steroid enemas I will definately have insomnia and have a hard time sleeping, this is one of the reasons why I started melatonin.
