Interesting. UC is an autoimmune disease and it is very possible that you had something small there from the beginning and your body's immune system was attacking it, causing inflammation and UC.
That's really an interesting concept. I hadn't thought about
that. My chief complaint has always been bleeding, that's how this whole thing started. I don't think my UC is gone but I must say, I'm totally amazed at how fast things turned normal. I never expected this to happen. I'm in disbelief really.

Great news!! Did you have the polyp when you were first diagnosed?
I agree...you do have a great doctor!
Hope you continue to use the Canasa on a maintenance basis.
I did not have the polyp when I was first diagnosed, at least not one that could be seen. There was a spot the doc called an irritation. He biopsied it and it came back consistent with UC. At that time I was going to another GI at a scoping mill. He had told me I didn't need to be scoped again for ten years. Good thing I didn't listen to him. I interviewed docs until I found my current doc. He's been so awesome, I'm lucky to have him.
I'm going to continue Canasa. I also just got a script
for sulfite free Rowasa. And my doc wants me to take Colazal for at least a couple of months.
Every day the past two weeks I've been putting out thankful energy. I feel so lucky to feel normal again. I had forgotten what it was like.
