About to start APRISO!!! finally!!!

So, after 2 months of new GI's, dealing with weeks of power outages from the storm, I am finally about to start Apriso!!

 I think it's 4 tablets in the morning...I'm picking it up today.

My GI said if I wanted, I could start with 2 for a week then 3 , then finally 4 every day.

Does anyone know if it makes a difference?

I'm so excited to start them! Sounds crazy, but I have been waiting a long time to start...it just makes me feel better knowing that I am treating it from both ends...

Right now, I am using rowasa/canasa alternating with rowasa/cortenema.

Was on only canasa, and every other night rowasa, but started to feel some pressure, and started having squirts during the day of pinkish/ light red liquid.

I also upped my Metamucil ( THANK YOU QUINCY!)..hoping that helps...

Because of the storm and power out for 3 weeks, I lost all of my VSL..as well as  the pharmacy was flooded, so i had to wait for them to get back on track.

I'm picking it up Friday...

Hoping that the Asacol, plus the VSL again will get me out of this flare...it's very little, but I learned my lessons this time...starting my oral meds, plus rectal meds!!!

Hoping for some relief!!!

Good luck jfem4!  I also think I would just start w/ the 4 if you don't have an issue w/ mesalamine.  Even 4 Apriso is a pretty low dose compared to what alot of people take.  I think it is very smart to treat from both ends....no guarentees, but a little of an insurance policy.

Well I'd say you've been through a huge stressor!!!! Good to hear things are starting to get back to "normal" after the storm.

It's exciting to hear you're finally going to start the Apriso. I'd start at the 4 as well since you're still in a delicate state. You could eventually taper if all is working really well for you...

Hope the fibre, probiotics and the both ends treatment gets you back on track.

Yeah, many of us have low vitamin D....heck, maybe MOST people have low vitamin D.
I'm on Jamieson D3 4000 IU daily, and another 500 or so that's in the Cal/mag/D GNC caplets.
It takes months to get a test result for vitamin D here, but I hear the time is improving in some places.
Mine's still low, but I'll get it checked again in March.

My cat's doing MUCH better. The probiotic (from Costco) I switched her to gave her more urgent bms. So switched her to the Reuteri until I got the New Roots Ultra Max powder. We have her on the one wet food that doesn't seem to cause her any problems...AND...she's been pooping in her box with 1 bm a day.
Needless to say it's a celebration and a relief to not wake-up to her distress.
But we will continue to keep her in the basement overnight. (I so miss her sleeping with me :-(
