4mydaughter,
Glad to hear she is feeling better. I remember the first thing I thought I could eat and keep down and that was a bowl of orange sherbert. When I was diagnosed at 15 (28 now), GI doctors told me all kinds of negative things so I don't go to them at all now. I go to my regular nurse practitioner IF I ever have a flare-up, which is once every few years! It was about
as bad as it could get when I was diagnosed, covering my entire colon...now I'm as healthy as a horse, run a business full-time. Go with natural remedies as much as you can and stay healthy in between flares, avoiding trigger foods and medicines that cause flares such as strong iron supplements, oral fever blister medicines, etc. I don't take anything for UC.
