Anyone have issues with chipotle? I eat only the white rice and chicken and have been living off the stuff for a couple months now. Gluten-free and the rice is ridiculously good. But it seems that it is giving me issues. I am taking it out for a couple of days and see what happens. But honestly, I am on 30 mg of pred, I should feel great, but I am still having issues. I thought rice and chicken were safe?

Who knows what the food is cooked with or around. I'd say it's fine to go out to places like this every so often, but shouldn't become a regular thing - even for those who don't have IBD.
Why not make your own rice and chicken? This way you can control the portions, preparation and ingredients.

Cross-contamination could be bad
why not go buy some fresh chicken and rice and cook yourself? Cheaper and you know what is in your food.

I wish we had a Chipotle. I hear great things about
that place. I'm in no condition to eat out at the moment but once my UC subsides (whenever that'll be -_-) I will make it a mission to drive myself to a Chipotle. We can make another Harold and Kumar movie out of it, only we'll call it, Gina Goes to Chipotle ;)

I looked up the ingredients: Rice is white rice, cilantro, lime juice and salt. Chicken is marinated in something and grilled (all gluten free). Could I be having a sensitivity to something on the chicken or even the rice?
Or maybe I am just doomed to feel like crap forever.

I agree with the people that posted above. We don't know what they cook in or how sanitary it is. When I eat out, I'm more concerned about
how they're preparing the food more so than what the ingredients actually are. You mentioned you've been eating this for months. If the symptoms are recent I would think that maybe it was a cause of some cross contamination. I think you're going to have to wait it out a couple of days to see if your symptoms subside. When I'm on 30mg of Pred I usually feel fine so I see how you're concerned there. What are these issues you are talking about
? Perhaps get a stool sample to see if you have a bacterial infection. As for chicken and rice being safe; when I'm on 30 mg of Pred, I can usually eat anything. I haven't really noticed a lot of foods that irritate me when I'm a good dose of steroids so I don't see how chicken and rice could be irritating you. Then again, everyone's GI system and UC is different so who knows.

Some times I can eat it with no problems other times I will have increased Bm's either later that night or the next day. I've decided the next time I won't have lettuce and see if that helps. Lettuce still sometimes hates me.

I might possibly have some looser (and stinkier) stool if I had a lot of it. I don't consider that an issue, however.
Maybe you're confusing normal food issues with what's safe.
Maybe don't think safe or not safe....

I think Chipotle actually has a good reputation for choosing "good" ingredients (natural, local, etc.). I also read it on some list of Gluten Free restaurants (aka a place that sells gluten free foods, not saying the entire place is gluten free). But you never know about
cross contamination. Do you do dairy free? Maybe a spoon got in some sour cream or something.

I have no problem with white rice, grilled chicken, salsa, etc. But Chipotle gave me really awful diarrhea.
Once again, it just depends on your own body.

I have a Chipolte where I work. I get plain white rice with grilled chicken and black beans. I have no problems with this.

I've been so confused by this post, I didn't know chipotle was a restaurant..lol We don't have those around here, but do have some great Mexican food which I eat maybe once a week. Fish tacos are one of my favorites.

How can you guys eat at that place?! I think Chipotle has terrible food...I bet your issue is from food that hasn't been kept at proper temperatures. I bet it's too much bacteria. Try eating the same thing somewhere else and see if you have problems.

Quincy: they have great food!! I am very picky when it comes to eating in restaurants. The food at Chipolte is always fresh.
