How about an encouraging thread? What have you accomplished lately despite uc?

What have you accomplished small or big lately despite this awful disease? I think a positive thread would be beneficial to myself and perhaps others after the inevitable added stress of the holidays.

We've got just over a foot of fresh snow the past week so:

Saturday, I did 5.5 miles of cross-country skiing.

Yesterday, I did 4 miles of snowshoeing to the summit of a small mountain with a view.

I don't like positive threads in general. The only positive threads I like are the ones that say, the disease is gone, in remission, cured etc.

Doing stuff while suffering with the disease makes the stuff less enjoyable.

I went and watched the Hobbit the other day, it's a 3 hour movie, through out the movie, I was fearful it would happen and I would have to leave. Thankfully, it didn't, but I really dispise that. It makes anything that I do, annoying.

Well this year I didn't do a whole lot but last year, while in the midst of a mild flare, me, my husband and some close friends jumped on the motorcycles (I'm a passenger, not the driver) and rode from Michigan all the way to Panama City Beach Florida. I even took a jet ski out on the ocean to swim with the dolphins. I had some issues in the morning but I love riding so that put me at ease and I had a great time :)

i signed my sister and i up for a little photo shoot in our new christmas clothes. i'm nervous about going, but we haven't had professional photos done since we were very young so i thought it would be nice to get another one.

i also watched two seasons of homeland with my mom in 5 days. now that is dedication.

Not to drop a rock into this thread....why would you assume that other threads aren't positive or encouraging?  Or that this isn't a positive forum?????
Just the attitude of the title is negative to me.

And why would walking or cross country skiing long distance be seen as positive encouragement? i'd never even think of doing it..

What have I accomplished despite UC?  I'm still functioning.

Then make it "happy/awesome/feel good/what have you accomplished/whatever" in the title. Enough already with or complaining that we don't have enough POSITIVE around here.

Here's my positive...be realistic already...a title like this just negates the fact of having reallllly crappy days and struggling endlessly to even function with having UC and other stuff to go along with it.

Not only that, iPoop...you answered the New Year's resolution thread that you want to be more ornery. Well, be the best that you can be!...it's your perception of negative and positive that's skewed.

I completed a Half-Marathon with IPS.

My son won first place (in his age group) at a kids triathlon.

He went to a 2 hour swim practice during the middle of drinking his 1 1/2 days worth of prep for his colonoscopy/endoscopoy. I thought he should just stay home and he told me that he would not be missing practice! Thankfully he was able to get through practice without having to run to the bathroom.

I let my ex-wife move in with my daughter and I today Then called my attorney and am submitting a motion for Primary Residential Parent, I will let her keep the 600 child support .... for now.

I got enough work done during the flare and after the flare - to take 2 weeks off over the holidays. First break since I left the ICU in 2010.

I pulled my whole family together for a reunion at my new house, I rallied the family to get my mom straightened out last summer and now she is doing great and my folks stayed here all year instead of going back to Oregon so we had wonderful holidays.

I have overcome my post-flare anemia and was able to squat 300 today and 225 felt like *nothing* that is a big deal because post flare after the weight loss just the bar alone seemed like a big deal. Until the heavy set I was not even winded.
