I noticed my Lialda pharmacy savings card is due to expire on 12/31. How do I go about
in getting it renewed? Contact my GI who gave it to me in the first place or online at Lialda's website?
Happy Holidays everyone!

I didn't get mine from the GI, I got it from Lialda's site.
www.lialda.com/lialda-savings.aspx
I am hoping it renews automatically but we may have to reapply.

I think you have to reapply. I think they will email you a temp card to use until you get your real one in the mail. Love that card.

reapplying after the 1st can be faster. the sales rep may not drop off any at the GI's office for several weeks.

I had gotten mine from the Lialda website, and last year, they sent me a new one in the mail without me having to do anything. I'm not sure if the same thing will happen this year or if I'll have to reapply.

Thought I'd let people know that the ShireCares site will help you financially as well, I just received 3 months of Lialda for free b/c my insurance sucks and my income fell within range for aid.

I forget how the savings card work. I have been getting free Lialda through ShireCares, but I will start a full-time job in the next week or so with a not so great health insurance plan. I will be making barely above the range for free med, I wonder if can still get it for free or at a big discount. I will be working as a subcontractor and I'm worried the company will not keep me if my health condition is too costly financially for them... is it reasonable to fear a company fires/layoffs an employee for no reason other than the employee having expensive prescript
ion drugs?

I believe you still can get it for much cheaper through them, I've also been told those income numbers are not set in stone, they will work with you. Also, you may not have to report new income til next calendar year, I used my 2011 tax return.

Mattcs- thank you so much for the info; I feel a little reassured now. I think I will report my new income once I'm at the job and hopefully Shire will still assist me.

All they require is your previous year's tax return. It sounds like your 2012 income will have you within the range for full assistance. If I were you I would not report the 2013 income until next year, especially if it risks you losing the financial aid.

Does the lialda card work even if you have insurance?

the card works best with insurance, without it merely knocks off like $50 off the ~$700/month bill.

I have insurance and the card brings my monthly copay from $40 to $10 I think.

I just went to get my Lialda and they didn't ask me to give them an updated copay assistance card. I had filled out the form on their page and printed the temp card but it rang as $10 without doing anything.

I'm online checking into the savings card, but not sure what the qualifications are...I got new prescript
ion for Lialda today, but I'm not sure if I'll get it filled yet..but I'm wondering if it costs the pharmacy? I support local pharmacies because they support my business, so I don't want them to have to pay for it. I'm guessing Lialda pays them?

I imagine you can ask them the price w/o getting it filled.

Shire sent me mine automatically just before the end of the year. I have to call to activate it, but I've had one since 2011.

It is weird that some get it sent automatically and some have to go to the website and get one from there. I have been using this card now for 5 years and not once did they send it to me automatically.
