Budesonide

I would like to know how many have used oral or rectal Budesonide preparation to induce UC remission? And what were the doses?

I am in flare since Thanksgiving. I use Hydrocortisone and mesalamine rectal preps along with my regular meds but the status of flare is just as it is. GI doesn't want me to go on Oral pred so I am planning to ask her Budesonide, orally or rectally.
I read that it is more used in Crohn's and not in UC. Hence, the question.

My daughter has used the enemas in the past with good success but they don't work anymore for some reason. I think they are a good option. Oral Budesonide isn't used for UC for the reasons kazbern stated.

i have used budesonide (entocourt) orally for a few months and it did not help at all.  i have pancolitis but itskips throughout my colon so my gi thought it might help me

almost a year ago i was in a clinical trial for budesenide rectal foam. to my knowledge it is not yet avail in the us but it is avail in other countries.  i thought i was doing well on it, had no bleeding for 3 days and then i was kicked off the study because my symptoms improved, and well, its a long story, but if it comes out in the us i want to try it.

i tried it for three days and my pain and diarrhea increased too much to stay on it. my dose was 3 mg.
