Just wondering if anyone has been to him, he's doing FT, but don't know yet if he's doing the study for people with UC. It's closer to me than NY

I haven't but I'd love to see how you do with FT. I do think you should stick with what works so if Humira is giving you good results, perhaps you should continue it for a while. Are you still have side effects?

He is WONDERFUL! Brilliant, kind, the whole package. Lots of access to trials. U of C is leading the way for Crohn's and Colitis issues. Let me know if there are specifics I can help you with.

A friend's daughter sees him. I think she thinks he's okay though she's a very complicated case. I don't think they're doing FT for UC yet in fact they're in the stages to gaining approval for trials (though they might have it now but when I was in touch with him about this they seemed to be in the very early stages less than a year ago). Others are doing them - I think Lawrence Brandt in NY is one. There are quite a few more now than just a year ago which is good news.

Unfortunately, Dr Brandt in NY is no longer treating UC with FT. I got in touch with him recently and he told me that he had to stop treating UC patients because the FDA now considers stool a drug. He did tell me that some doctor in Chicago was starting trials for using FT for UC. It might be Dr Rubin that he was talking about.

Dr.Rubin is a very understanding and caring GI. We had an appointment with him in July end. We too went there in the hope to get FT. But he said he is waiting for the FDA'S approval for the 2nd trial. Even if he get the approval, there are some requirements  to get into the trial. The one I remember- for my daughter, her UC should be still be active with basic maintenance med. He is very supportive to the SCD diet.

I do feel better, but still there's all the same stuff, urgency, blood, skinny stools, etc....

I faxed over my consultation request to Dr. Rubin, I'm willing to fly to him IF he can do the FT, but if not no need to make the trip. When they contact me I'll be able to see where they are with the trial at least :)

hey I know this is old but does anyone know if he got the approval to go through with that trial for FMT for UC and if it is still going on? I am very interested in doing it

I LOVE him. Never thought I'd say that about someone who sticks things up my butt! Anyway, I have been seeing him since May. He is understanding, kind, incredibly intelligent, cutting edge, and DETERMINED to make his patients well. He acts with urgency as well. If you need help, he's on top of it. I don't believe FT is happening there yet, but just go to him anyway. If I ever move out of Chicago, I will travel any distance to continue seeing him. He's that good.
