Mike, it is a known that arginine is not recommended for those with all Herpes type virus'. It actually is one of the main reasons why the virus gets awakened is too much arganine in the cell store. I think maybe there is something to this because all I been reading on EBV correlates it to a herpes type of virus which then would assume that if you did have EBV you would not want to take in more arginine than lysine. I myself have been taking 250mg of l-lysine daily for a month or so now. I also watch for foods high or even low in arginine to keep my levels low with the exception for spinach. Maybe this has something also to do with my progress. I do also know just as a side note that spinach has arginine but also has lysine and is higher in lysine so there is a balanbce but as compared to lets say chocolate or peanuts you cant compare as they are very high in arginine.
Perhaps alot of us have a virus and infact have EBV which would explain why you get worste when taking more arginine. Also from what I have read if you croud out the arginine in the cell store with Lysine you essentially keep the virus in a dormant state. Could it be that the herpes form of EBV causing lesions in our guts similiar of the typical oral herpes virus since EBV is also a herpes type of virus? I may up my dose of l-lysine to 500mg a day.
