OK. Here's my advice, take it or leave it. It won't help you feel any better, but IMO it's good to have a plan.
When you have hit the 12 month mark on TTC without conceiving, both you and your partner need to start the process of getting checked out. It's possible that your UC is making it more difficult to conceive, but there isn't a lot of hard science there. It is most important that you get baseline data on your cycle, your hormonal levels and your partner's fertility. If you feel like charting, now is a good time to start. I recommend reading Taking Charge of your Fertility for some really good info on your cycles and how to chart them.
At your age there is not a big rush to start testing. Give yourself the 12 months. I know you're impatient. Use this time to try hard to get into remission UC-wise.
I had trouble conceiving and it turned out that we had both male and female factors. My IBD wasn't diagnosed until after the birth of my first child, although I think there were issues before I got pg. During my years of TTCing, I complained monthly about pelvic pain that my DRs thought was probably endo, but after a perfectly clean pelvis was found during a lap, they were dumbfounded and just waved me off. Now I think it was bowel inflammation causing the pain, flaring periodically with my hormonal cycle.
I now have two kids. It took us 5 years and a lot of $$$ to conceive the first one, and the 2nd one was a spontaneous conception after a failed IVF. So there you go.
