imagardener, what foods have you connected to the 1-4b movements in the morning?
The "wrong" ice cream, usually chocolate with other ingredients.
Rosemary.
Tea, including green, herbal and decaf. I don't understand why my gut doesn't like decaf tea but no question it does not like it.
Garlic.
Tomatoes, fresh, canned and sauce
Black pepper.
Lemon and lime and other citrus.
Citric acid which is in many prepared and canned foods is really bad for me.
Yogurt and other "wet" dairy (hard, aged cheese is OK).
These are the biggies but there are more.
The worst combination is eating multiple wrong foods that create both gas and urgency (as you can imagine).
Gluten is "out" for me but does not produce multiple BM's, just bleeding later.
Many doctors would call my reactions to food IBS not UC. All I know is I didn't have these negative reactions before getting UC and when I modified my diet to remove questionable foods I started remission which never happened with RX meds.
edit to add: I have also reduced amount of insoluble food eaten because that was adding to high BM # daily. In my case I cut out almonds which caused constipation but then later added to multiple BM's (if that makes sense).
