Anyone else with colitis that has increased heart rate, even at rest.. Feel your heart beating loud and fast for almost no reason?

This can happen if you are anemic.

You might also be feeling some arrhythmia, which can be completely benign, but given your recent myocarditis I would call your DR (cardiologist).

oh yeah all the time when i'm flaring. my resting is usually around 120 bpm. my poor heart...

60mg of pred could give fast heart

Pred, anemia, and a bad flare have caused these problems. The last time a flare caused my heart rate to go up, I ended up in the hospital. Otherwise I would just feel it quite often (but my BP wasn't high).

However, if you had heart issues before please please get checked out.

When I was running my resting heart rate was 43. Now it's 60 - 75.

When I was recently in the hospital for this pain I am having that they have now diagnosed as a flare. My BP went crazy. At one time it was 190/120. I know my heart rate was up too but I don't know how high.

If you're still on prednisone, it could definitely be the cause of that.

During my last flare my resting heart rate was over 100 bpm, even when just waking up in the morning. But my rate returned to 65-68 when my flare ended.

Severe dehydration can cause tachycardia. When I was admitted to the hospital my heart rate was 130 bpm, pre-flare RHR was 50...

Pred can also cause heart palpitations ("feeling" your heartbeat).

I have this too and was told it was nothing to worry about. It can be very bothersome however, when i'm lying in bed at night I feel my heart beat and it prevents me from falling asleep. I am not in a flare, so it might me side effects from the meds or my very low iron. Better get it checked out just to be safe.
