I'm relatively new to this and not sure exactly when my UC started because I had c-diff for months before I could get a colonoscopy. What I do know for sure is that I've been in this flare at least since end of December. Considering its new to me it feels like a long time but Im sure some people have had it much longer.

the very first one was almost 3 years. My GP of that time didn't take it seriously until the bleeding started. At least she eventually sent me to a GI after claiming it's probably hemmies.
Once on meds, the longest was almost 3 months.

I was dx in 2007 I don't know if I've ever been out of a flare for Long enough to call it remission. I was better for a few months on Remicade but had to stop that due to infection. Then I was better for a few months when I discovered that I was lactose intolerant. But I have never had a clear scope. Until the last month I have never had less than 6 BMs a day for an extended period of time or without Lomotil.

Even though I am doing better than many here I consider myself to be in one long flare, now over two years since diagnosis.
