I've read some older threads on this topic, just wondering if anyone has any new information.

Been on Remicade for almost a year, and just within the last month been experiencing more frequent headaches. Some of them have been migraines.

Had an infusion on Monday 3/11, and was premedicated with Tylenol and Benedryl as usual. My Remicade infusion is 5mg/kg every 8 weeks.
Woke up with a headache Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Took some OTC headache medicine each morning which took care of the pain. The headaches seem to be getting less severe everyday.

Headaches seem to be a common side-effect, and something I'd be willing to put up with as the Remicade has put me into remission. Am a little concerned if the headaches continue to grow in severity with each infusion.

I too get headaches during my infusions and a couple days after. I have been on 10mg/kg every 8 weeks for a year and a half and they haven't gotten worse kinda just stayed the same. Do you find you get SUPER tired right after the infusion? I go right home to bed after mine. Also get achy sometimes days after. So I think headaches are normal, just monitor them and if they get worse talk to you Dr.

Yes, I do get super tired after the infusion, but I think some of it is from the Benedryl. I do find that I'm very tired for several days after each infusion.

If things get worse I'll my GI a call, but will certainly bring it up at my next appointment.

my remicade headaches were the main reason i didn't increase my dosage. the 5mg dose was ineffective for me but i just couldn't imagine my headaches getting worse at 10 mg. i'd have 3 day migraines usually the day of and days after each infusion. i'd get random headaches between then but the migraines were terrible. i couldn't do anything.

I told my GI about the headaches and he just said take Tylenol before I get my infusion. I haven't done that yet cause I always forget :S

Jay79-I noticed you took Humira, Did you find it worked? Or are you finding Remicade better? I might do the switch from Remicade to Humira since Remi only works for about 4 wks outta 8 even on 10mg/kg.

Humira didn't work for me as much as I wanted it to because it was so convenient.
Remicade allowed me to get off Prednisone, something that Humira couldn't do for me.
