Yet another "Canadian Pharmacy that ships to the US" question

Hello folks,

So my GI wants to change my medications. She is proposing quite many but my refusal for biologics and high deductible insurance is an BIG issue. So I pick her brains to suggest drug that is best bang for the buck.

She suggested Canasa but the cost will kill me. In another thread, I suggested that I could get it from India. Now it turns out that someone in Washington or Delhi got smarter. You can not ship a package of medicines of more than 400gms (~14oz) and that shipment costs $70 (and the shipping time). I am still weighing if its worth getting it from India. (Plus, I am on my way to give a try to Celebrex for my migraine.)


As a backup, I am looking into Canadian Pharmacies. Many (really many) mention that they get it from Canadian pharmacy but never mention the name of the pharmacy. Still digging further got me following names

Now my question is, can anybody (preferably veteran folks, just for a trust purpose) confirm good or bad experience with either of these pharmacies or other pharmacies, not listed here.

AGAIN, the pharmacy should be able to ship meds to the US (NY to be very precise).


Bonus question:
In one of the post noah_Bodie recommended to use eBillMe or check instead of credit card because of credit card fees or any other troubles. Has anyone tried this method of payment?

I can tell you that my self employed uncle who had a failed kidney transplant and is on dialysis requires many many expensive meds. No insurance means meds out of pocket (even in Canada - at least in Ontario -we still have to pay for meds not given in hospital). Recently some friends bought some of the meds over for him. They cost the equivalent o $6 there as opposed to $600 here. Same med, different name. He says the Indian meds work even better and he'll just have them sent over from now on. I'd try it, nothing to lose really.
I've never used any of those pharmacies so can't comment on those.

Well, I would get Indian meds too but there is actually a good chance that meds from India will be blocked at border than Canada, call it whatever you like but thats truth. I have previously got meds from Sweden, no problem whatsoever..

As I said, Indian meds is an option but I am weighing on Canadian, just to have something to fall back on.

I am in the process of getting my canasa from Big Mountain drugs. I sent them my prescription by mail but they said they will becalling me when they get the mail and the prescription to confirm how many I want of the canasa. I spoke to a pharmacist there and have called back to get really consistant  customer support every time which has been twice to answer my quations. The pharmacist even called me because they were looking to fill my prescription but needed the prescription from my doc, but then I explained to them that I mailed and they should be getting it soon.

 I cant beat the deal I will be getting from them for the canasa and so far feel good about my experience with them. I will update as I place the actual order over phone when they get my letter with the info they need.

How are you paying them?
Why did you mail them, instead of emailing or faxing? (just thinking, email would have been quicker).

Will be glad if you could update once you receive your medications.

BTW, Northwest pharmacy has even cheaper (just by $5 though)

I notice that most "Canadian" online pharmacies are actually Indian pharmacies.... Gets around the bad rep of Indian rx to label themselves as Canadian with a Canadian online front. But they ship fast, and are cheap- but read independent reviews to verify the seller.

Legit? My asacol hd with my insurance runs me 138$ a month. I would like to look into this. American insurance and medicine is such a rip off it's hard to believe it's legal and these crooks aren't thrown in jail.

I've heard of people buying from Northwest. Did you read NoahBodies post on buying from Canada?

As you know, I buy from all sorts of crazy pharmacies, pretty much whoever has what I want at a price I can afford. I've gotten Sallofalk in place of Canasa and it works great! I've mostly ordered that from CanadaDrugs.

One thing I've noticed about all of these places is they never ship from the place you would think. Most come from random locations. The most recent shipment I got was Deutsch post but nothing in the box was from there. I've also gotten shipments from Barbados, England and Singapore. Not sure what the logic behind this is. I will let you know where my next package comes from when it arrives ;)

Did you notice Universal Drug store now has Salofalk 1000mg suppositories? I thought it was only 500mg? Can some Canadian user confirm that they do sell Salofalk 1000mg suppositories in Canada?

I'd like to put it in resources but I know ordering from outside the country is a bit of a taboo topic. I don't see many other options when you're unemployed/uninsured with a chronic condition... I figure it's better to be informed if you're going to do it ;)

Yay, you are star. I tried to find it using Healingwell's search function, even tried big brother google directly but could not find it.

Universal drug store has 1gm suppositories for $85 http://www.universaldrugstore.com/medications/salofalk.

Why do you say, ordering from outside the country is a taboo? You have a chronic condition and for some reason, you can not afford to buy meds in the country. The govt. talks, talks and talks but so for nothing has reached to you so in 'a desperate attempt' you are trying to get the meds from where you can afford. Straight and simple. Honestly, I wouldn't care. When I got my meds from Sweden, I was worried about this. May be I will get a phone call from some authorities about the meds shipment. I had this story ready. The phone never rang.

I just ordered 1000mg Salofalk from these guys, came fairly quick to Southern California. took about a week shipping wise

I think I looked at Northwests prices and I believe they dont offer 180 quantity making BigMountain a better deal but will look again. This way I ship once saving the 10 bucks for my years supply and wont have to reorder. I used my Visa credit card but they wont charge anything till they call me back when they receive my mail with my prescription to reconfirm the order.. Per the pharmacist.

I was paying 5.66 a piece with prescriptionhere in USA and pay 2.66 a piece from Big Mountain..

No Brainer...

My dad's been getting generic asacol from Big Mountain for years.   He says they're great and is  talking me into using them now that I've got a high deductible plan.   He says they do take about 3 weeks to get to him, so he just has to stay on top of it and order in advance.  He's never had a problem with them and has recommended them to many people.   I don't believe the generic is available in the US at this time, but he's had no problems with ordering it from Canada.

It's taboo because there are legalities to ordering more than a certain amount of medication. I have heard 3 months is the most you can order legally. There have been discussions on the mod forum about this and it's not cut and dry. Some members think we shouldn't post about the topic of buying abroad at all. I personally would like to make the information available. Better to be informed and able to get the drugs you need at a good price in a safe manner.

I know I am not a veteran poster but I would like to think I have posted enough you guys know I am not just here to advertise or anything. My mom takes a medication that is not available in the US. Her doctor told us which Canadian pharmacy to order from. The doctor sends them the Rx. We call and pay with a credit card. They charge it when they ship. They will use a debit card but I do not think they take checks but cannot be 100% sure. The one she uses is not very customer service friendly. If you call twice they will give you two different answers. The name of hers is Canada Drugs Online. Some of their phone reps are exemplary but others are rude and know nothing about their job. They say it takes three week to get the meds but we usually get them in a week or two. W have never had any problem receiving meds just with getting questions answered.

I first heard this site to my friend, we found out that the company has a poor reputation and this is based on real user ratings. Even Legitscript has considered the company to an unapproved internet pharmacy and considered it to be unsafe for buying medication. I have been ordering mesalamine in various forms for 4-5 years from Jan Drugs, a Canadian Pharmacy. Used to be able to get more than a 3 month supply, but not now. You can choose from an assortment of manufacturers, some being more expensive than others.

Deltaforce, I ordered ASACOL HD from Canadadrug. It took about 2 weeks to arrive. Unfortunately, my GI put me on Imuran now. Their customer service was great. I was able to return it. I do not know I will get credit or refund. Medicines are very expensive to get it from India unless a family or friend is going there.

I don't think Asacol HD (or equivalent) is sold in India. Honestly, drugs in India are not expensive for us in the US, but the mark up these pharmacies add is enormous and that makes it expensive. I get loads of stuff when I travel, and its not that expensive if you start paying in USD.
