helping me in the way that I want to remain as protected from so many invaders that could possibly ingest...absolutely. I think everyone should be on them regardless.
We're more prone to flare after invaders...so again, keeping happy balanced bacterial flora seems a good thing.
I've tried many...the two I now use seem best so far. the reuteri is very underrated...not embraced except by me (that I recall at this time).
I used it on my cat to stop her diarrhea...was really impressed). It does give her much harder stool, but it's difficult for her to expel. I have her on other probiotics daily (she's 19 next week..).
Yes...I did give her yogurt for a long while for the probiotic value and to help soften her stool. meh...
she also throws up a lot (stunk even after it was cleaned up, so opted for probiotic supps).
For you to find what works for you can be a frustrating and expensive process. I also take my probiotics at bedtime, never during the day...unless I believe I have picked up something (which has only been once I have done that).
Trial and more trial....
Yogurt also has good calcium...that in itself can calm the digestive tract.
There are some cheeses with no lactose. Costco carries a swiss one in slices...very good.
