Rash from Imuran

Hi All,

I know this topic has been covered before, but I have reviewed a number of threads and what I haven't seen is any information about how anyone treated a rash they developed from Imuran any other way than by discontinuing use of the medication.

Does anyone have experience with a rash from Imuran that they were able to eradicate using topical solutions at all?

My boyfriend has been on Imuran for about 4 months and developed a small rash on his face under his eye about a month in. It seems to be slowly spreading to other portions of his face, but it's mostly around his eyes. He was using topical steroids for a little while that seemed to keep it at bay, but it kind of comes and goes and never goes away completely.

If anyone has any info about other possible treatments for this, I would love to hear it.

Thanks Red_34. How did your doc determine what prescription cream to put you on? Was it prescribed by a primary care, your GI, or a dermatologist?
