Sneaky darn disease

Hi,
Haven't posted for a long while but look everyday to keep up,well here we go again I think.
Back been aching for weeks just put it down to work being so heavy then last week stomach started aching now the cramps that come in waves are here and the trips to the toilet just to sit and wait have begun.
It's been a long time since last flare so hope this goes before it gets any worse,how I hate this disease just when you think your safe up it comes as if to say no you have lived a normal life for a while now I'm back.
So far no blood but I very rarely have any only when really bad,due for bloods so that's good also having lots of night sweats and not sleeping very well,fingers crossed its just a blip and not going to turn into full blown flare.

Hi yes for some reason profile did not show medication has not changed have been a bit slack with diet though

I dread spring and fall...there seems to be a connection between these two season that cause UC'ers to flare and I'm sorry to see you're one of them :( So far I'm still doing good (knock on wood!) but my allergies have been kicking my butt!

Can you do rectal meds? If so, you should get on them pronto to avoid it from getting worse.

You are so right. this disease can go into remission for years. and just when you start to forget that you even have the disease, it rears it's ugly head again. My longest remission was close to 9 years, but in truth looking back I believe that I was having mini flares in that time all along.
about 4 years ago I was in that seasonal cycle of on again off again, though the off again times were not normal either, just no bleeding. After 40 years of fighting the good fight, being on and off meds that seemed to only make me worse I decided to have surgery. For me this was the best choice, based on my age, the duration of my disease, and other financial matters as well.
I am only 8 days post op, but I have been bouncing back from surgery well and I am learning to live with the ileostomy bag, though this will be reversed in a couple months... glad I made that decision, at least at this time.
I hope you can get yourself back on the remission side of the equation soon.

Yup, even taking maintenance meds, doesn't guarantee anyone can completely control this nasty disease...it's the nature of the beast and has more control than we like to give it credit for. Hope you bounce back and stay well.

If pain is under ribs it could be your descending colon acting up. I'm sorry the beast is attacking you again ... take good care of yourself! / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Made it through work with the help of pain killers, just woke up after a three hour nap,stomach doing its one man band impression with the pain waves as oncore.
Think light diet and lots of fluids for a while.
Trying to make blood appointment for next week when kids go back to school.

Lambkins: My heart goes out to you. I know your pain, literally. It is so disappointing to have these flares especially after a long remission. Please take care of yourself.
