Asacol vs Lialda

What's the difference between Asacol and Lialda? My doctor took me off Asacol and switched me me to Lialda.

Lialda uses MMX - multi matrix system release while Asacol uses modified release. I wouldn't bother to dig up studies on comparing the two. Just feel it out yourself. Lots of studies like comparing 4.8g of one 5asa to 2.4g of another and do weird dosing schedules and what not to make the newest 5asas more appealing. I was actually switched off of Lialda (mezavant in Canada) to Asacol.

I was thinking maybe the lialda released better then the asacol. I was always pooping out the asacol, only seen 1 lialda pill so far. But thanks for the info my friend!!!

Haha ive been on asacol 6pills a day this week and havent seen a pill. i did see pills when i was on lialda though. Everyones different!

Yeah that's what i was on, 3 pills in the morning 3 pills at night. there use to be times where i would see all 3 of the morning dosage 2 hours after i would take them! That's nuts right!?

i use to see the asacol too and i never see the lialda.

I've been on Lialda for 4 years and have never seen a whole pill come out.

I switched from Asacol to Lialda. I love the once a days instead of multiple times.
