Today i had a talk about
trying to discontinue my remicade with my doctor. He doesn't think i should do it but he said its my choice. I'm scared of taking it anymore because i got a lump on my thigh and i'm just scared of taking prednisone and uceris with the remicade... what are your guys thoughts on this?

just be aware... i used remicade with positive results, stopped taking it do have children, and then tried it again. i had a very scary anaphlaxis response. my body had developed antibodies and i can no longer take it.
good luck to you!

They don't think it's serious. But can someone please answer me if they think its a good idea to be on all 3 meds at a time? I know being on two STERIODS right now is sorta crazy but also with remicade?

I am on Remicade(just did first dose) and Uceris. No Prednisone though and will taper off Uceris is the remicade starts working.

Thanks scum1. I've had 3 remicade infusions and they haven't helped which is why my doctor put me on pred. But when i tapered to 20 mg i relapsed. Went back to 35 mg (now at 30 mg) and put me on entocort which is the same thing in uceris and now i've finally seen improvement

I am on the mesaliamine enemas as well as asacol hd. I was in the room getting my remicade with a guy who has been on remicade 6 years and he seemed happy with it.

the only time i've been on multiple drugs is when i was taking asacol and pred at the same time - i'm currently on no drugs - guess i'm not the best person to answer your question -

Its okay, I appreciate your reply! I see your not on any meds besides good food I wish I could achieve that possibility :) it's actually something I thought about
, which is why I talked to my doctor about
stopping remicade.. I have until Monday to decide.

I was on pred, imuran and remicade all at the same time. I hated being on so many drugs but needed to get my flare up under control. Remicade only started working between my 2nd and 3rd infusions then failed after my 4th. Thankfully I was scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later so I didn't have to suffer very long with a flare up. Also just like KPwithUC said you can develop antibodies if you stop remicade and wait try to do it again.
In the end, go with your instinct. You know your body best. Good luck!

Thanks babygoose, but remicade hasn't worked for me for 3 infusions already which is why i was thinking off going of it. my doctor said to go in for one more infusion and then he'll taper me off prednisone and see how i'm doing. I honestly don't think its the remicade thats helped me because everytime i went on prednisone i would go into remission.
