Hi Quincy. Unfortunately with an 18 year old I don't have any say when it comes to the doctors. I am only allowed in the room if my son allows me in and so far he welcomes me and my input but ultimately the decisions are his. It's so frustrating. I agree with you completely. If I could just get the GI on board. His UC is under control with the mezavant and little diet restriction. No cows milk, and careful on deep fryed foods and chocolate are the things that seem to give him gut ache. Fresh fruit and vegetables don't bother him, he eates lots of them and all meats beef, chicken and fish.
The GI says that the biopsy suggests early indication for psc. That with the inflammation and elevated enzymes - so therefor treat it with urso, no alcohol and we will see you in 3 months. Meanwhile I'll agree to ultrasound and monthly blood work. Then maybe an MRI. Basically be thankful it's asymptomatic in these early stages.
We need to push for an MRCP. I really really appreciated your wisdom and experience with this. Thank you.
