Orange color with loose stool after colonoscopy

Good morning. I had my every 3 year colonoscopy Thursday. Since then I have had some blood in the bowl ( I believe due to hemmies that are aggravated) but not each time. and lower abdominal cramping before each bowel movement. (Didn't have it this bad before colonoscopy). Anyway, I'm eating VERY lightly and bland, and yet I'm having watery stool each morning. Today, there was orange color in the bowl...have not seen this before. Does anyone know what can cause this? The only thing I can think of is stool passing too quickly...I'm not even eating enough to go each day, yet I am...with cramping and it's watery. Worried...I was in remisission of mild left sided UC before my colonoscopy. Thank you, wishing you all wellness :)

what exactly are you eating?

And are you on any meds?

I have been eating Banana, Broiled chicken, white rice and toast basically had some baked potato also. very small amounts of each. only eating twice per day. I currently take Sulfasalazine.

Do you take the Sulfasalazine in EN-tabs or the uncoated pill?The orange color could be from the med. It's possible, too, that the scope irritated your colon lining so that you're flaring -- moreso than before procedure. I think Quincy is asking about your meds to gauge a basic therapeutic level. / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Thank you for the reply. I take the uncoated pill. 500mg twice daily. Was working great for me. I know it's a low dose. I've been taking it that way for 15 years and have never had this orange color. I just wasn't sure if its something to worry about. I'm worried about perforation...though I don't have any other symptoms besides cramps at night and in the morning, watery orange stool and blood on and off..but the blood may be hemmies. I've just never felt this way after a colonoscopy and I was just fine before...:(

If you got scoped last Thursday and still feel crampy Mon-Tue, it seems reasonable to phone the doctor to describe your symptoms. Probably your pathology report will come in soon so that gives you an additional reason to call the office. / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
