Has anyone else heard about this med and what do you know? I have had an awful time sleeping since taking it but it does work fairly good.

I have taken it for several years. It has more side effects than the other mesalamines that we usually take. If you find these side effects to be a problem, talk to your DR about it.

I did, I emailed him also but it will take several days for him to get back to me. I had a total of 5 hour sleep in the last two nights, I was hoping to get some quick information until then that can work. Not sleeping is the worst.

I took it for many years, often at high doses. It worked very well until it didn't. I never had any problems with sleep while taking it. Anything else going on? Pred? Caffeine or exercise too late in the day since you might be feeling better?

Sulfasalazine or Azulfadine: I've been on it for years with no issues. It's one of the safest IBD drugs. It's an older drug that often works better than the newer ASAs like Asacol. For some, gradually easing into it can help avoid side effects. Here's a link to more info:
