I was just wondering when I should call the doctor or go to the er for my uc flares? I started having really painful and primarily bloody and mucousy flares for the last week or two. My fiance thinks I should go to the er as he's afraid of what my flares could do now that I'm only 7 weeks from my due date.

As long as you're able to keep down water and calories I don't think the ER is the place for you. Call your GI and let them know that you are having worsening symptoms.

Have you gotten mesalamine enemas? These are the ticket to relief for you.

I'm planning on asking my Gi doctor bout the enemy seeing as I've heard they work better plus I've had some fear of my pills affecting my unborn daughter. Lialda 3x daily with iron supplements for anemia.

Lialda is perfectly safe to take while pregnant but get some enemas too.

You should call both your GI and your OB. This late in your pregnancy they will likely want to see you and check things out. Don't take chances at this stage! Better safe ...

I agree with the above...I'd make sure both docs were given all this information AND try the enemas. They were truly a lifesaver for me! (and they are still working)
