Many of us have those symptoms when we're in a mild flare with limited rectal inflammation. While reflux can cause the same symptoms, when the rectum only is inflamed, it can cause misinformation to the rest of the digestive tract to "slow things down". That can cause cramping, spasming in the digestive tract (not only the colon), causing nausea, pain in the stomach, etc.
You can try antispasmodics (I use dicyclomine), Zantac, or even a shot of baking soda in water to see if that helps.
But, the fact that you also have varying bms, from constipation to frequency, I suspect you have mild inflammation happening. Reflux wouldn't cause that. But, in saying that...IBS could as well.
If it's only IBS, a tweaking in food, antispasmodics, fibre intake, probiotics, etc could improve your movements. But, if your symptoms worsen, say more constipation or pain while having bms or more frequency...it's probably a flare.
Are you on any meds at all? rectals?
