as i was said in my last topic,that im good in last 7 month that i dont have dieriah or blood or... i think im fine but i have 3 asacol 400 in a day yet...do you think i should quit it?

Why not, at worse the blood comes back, at best you don't take meds like all us addicts on here.

I also need me one of those Quit Pills.

Ulcerative Colitis is a lifelong thing and there is a strong chance you will flare back up when you stop maintenance meds. Each subsequent flare gets harder and harder to treat, requiring even stronger medications with terrible side effects. Take your winnings and stay on the pills so that you have the chance to enjoy a lifelong remission.

Please don't stop your medications if you are feeling well.

Hi, I'm kind of new to this board. I quit my meds about 2 years ago, and I felt fine for a while. Then I had an attack that was so severe, I knew I should have been in the hospital. I got back on meds, the hated prednisone also, and was fine after 9 months of illness. Now having a mild flare, but the first since going back on my meds.

I would rather take them then risk a horrible flare. I nearly lost my colon during one, and needed transfusions.

Be careful! Best to take a pill then get deathly ill.

Asacol is a maintenance medication, and you should continue to take it even when you're in remission (not having any symptoms). It's more likely that you'll flare if you quit than if you keep taking them. I've been in remission for 4 years now and I have no plans of stopping my meds.

I personally wouldn't stop the medication for the reasons others stated. I have been in remission for about 2 years but I continue to take my meds. UC is a very unpredictable beast and you can think you're 100% and it can come back 10x worse at a moments notice and be uncontrollable. Some people do well without meds but I imagine it's not many. every time i try to decrease my meds, I start having symptoms.

3 @ 400 sounds low, but maybe you can do 2 @ 400 or switch to 1 1.2g lialda a day.

I am taking 4, 1.2 Lialda a day. I know its a lot, but I'm scared to even try to decrease. Just recently, having a mild flare. I think it may have been because I've been having a few beers with friends. Do you guys have problems with beer, or wine?

So im not quit it or also forget decresing that!i like what i have now and i wanna remain on this remission

You are very smart for remaining on your medications. Pat yourself on the back for asking instead of taking action yourself.
