Amino Acid Therapy Week 3 & 4 Results

Miracles. I take 6 cysreplete as well. Seems like everyone does. i think I read something about it in one of the posts (links) Mark put up about why we all need it. If I can find it, I will repost. How are you feeling?
Mark-we discussed this by e-mail, but my best result was mixing it with applesauce. I find it sinks to the bottom in almost everything, but not yogurt or applesauce. I can't believe that you are taking that much. Crazy. I don't think I can afford to take double the amount I am taking right now. And I feel like it kinda upsets my stomach when I take it. I mix it with my smoothie in the morning and I have a hard time taking it.
Chroninator-hang in there. I assume this is easing you into it to make sure your symptoms don't worsen quickly and you quit the therapy. It is taking me much longer to get the right dosage, but I am feeling better. So hang in there. And let us know how it is going. How are you feeling?

Funny thing is, I feel pretty good. ONly going 2 a day, formed and not urgent. I will take it. Not sure who is doing this without supervision, but I was unwilling to try that. I have a urine test on Wednesday and then another week of waiting for the results. But honestly, I feel better. Still not perfect, but tons better than I was. Up until this last dosage change, I was still having really thin BM's, but even that is getting better.

Mark, what do you think of people trying this therapy without a physician testing the urine? My GP basically said that I'd be better off going on an SSRI drug, but if I wanted to try the supplements without the testing that it was fine.

Depends on what you buy into... I wouldn't try it without Dr. Stein. I don't see the point, nor a way to make adjustments without him.

SSRI's I've heard can make a difference as Lemon says - but according to the literature on this Amino Acid Therapy, it only works for so long, then it begins to deplete the dopamine and so on. There's quite a bit of write up on this on his website on why not SSRI's. I tend to believe him at the moment - but who knows.

Honestly, I'd first tell your doc to do some reading and research... then direct you. I doubt he did much more than read the case study - but you never know. Actually tell him just to call Dr. Stein. Let them work out what's best - and go from there.

I swear people these days just don't know how to pick up the phone and talk! haha... I mean really, a 5 min conversation would save a ton of questions, time

Miracles, I didn't really see any improvement until I added in the Tyrosine. Let us know how you do with the next change. I am pulling for you.

I was taking the Humira every week, I have cut back to every other week. Suppose to take a shot tomorrow. Have not decided if that will happen or not....I have reached my "really bad time of the month", so we will see I feel tomorrow and make that call then. I usually have a couple bad days around this time, but I only went 2x today, both solid, no urgency. I am super cranky today and have some left-sided pain.....not sure if it is my UC or an ovary. Hoping to feel well enough tomorrow that I forget to take my shot. I did reduce my colazal from 8 to 5 and have not had any issue with that. I take my urine sample tomorrow, will let you know what he says.

Dr. Stein had me right on the paper I submitted with my urine sample exactly how I was doing and I said still lots of blood, diarreah, etc Nothing has changed. However it seems like people noticed a change when adding in the tyrosine, but I didn't show I needed it last time...yet Dr. said. But I wasn't at the right dose, so I was like a week behind. Mind you, the urine tests are $160 each!! Expensive!!

Having a bad few days lately, today pooped in the car had to go home and change and start my day over....sucks! It always started in the car, my "accidents" they always happen there. I don't know if its the vibration, anexity of driving or sitting on my butt a certain way or just that it's early morning and I go for about two hours back and forth until my colon empties, but it's so frustrating!

Let see after my next dosage change how I do, before you jump on a plane. I'm a tough case, no UC drugs have ever put me into remission. No formed, solid stool in 8 years!

Trust me Aussiet if I do get this miracle, I'm going to thank him myself in person!
Mark hasn't posted in a while, he's doing good....less you think about UC the more you do in your life.

Lemonhead didn't you stop the treatment at one point until your next dose change? I'm thinking of stopping until my test results next week. Let me know if you did and how many days you stopped until you started again.

I just wanted to mention that there are 4 people that are doing the therapy althought I have CD and not UC. 5 days after my second dosage change I see some small improvements: my heart is no longer beating like crazy and I can better stand up in the morning. I also started tolerating L-Cystein much better so that I am able to take the recommended dosage now. No other improvements so far.

On monday I`ll do my third urine test an we`ll see how it goes.   

P.S: I tried to do this therapy without the tests and Dr. Stein first (2 months). It didn`t really work and my GI issues became much worse (most of the time). My experience: its not possible to find the right dosage on your own. 

Miracles-I did stop taking the supplements right before the change that aded in the Tryosine. I was thinking I wasn't feeling any better and I would save the supplements. I knew I needed to be on the new dose for 5 days at least before a new urine test, so i just planned on not taking a new urine sample until I had done the dose for 10 days instead. Worked out great because after Mark's issues with the Tyrosine (mental mostly), I decided to ease into that. So I think I started with 6 Tyrosine capsules, then went to 9, and then went to 15. Only issue I had/have is the horrible feeling of being exhausted all the time. If you aren't feeling any better, I don't see why you can't stop until the new dosage change. But that is just my opinion.

Dr. stein said it's not adviseable to stop since we're trying to build up the neuotransmitters.
